"Do you charge a flat rate or by-the-hour?!"

Like most people, we hate surprises of the financial type. That is why we will always charge a flat rate for editing services and provide a clear cost breakdown in your contract. You will know the total cost going in, no surprises.

As members of the Editorial Freelancers Association, our rates are based on the industry standard, however, we take into consideration those who are self-publishing, using crowd-funding, or otherwise self-funding. We also offer special rates for copyediting Fan Fiction!

Project Management, Game Development, and Audiobook Recording are the exceptions.

  • Project management and Game Development are based on hours invested, but a flat rate will be agreed upon in advance.
  • Audiobook Recording is based on the final number of vocal hours recorded, including minor editing, not the time it took to do the recording. We never charge for run-throughs, time with the director, or even the gag-reel!

  • Level of editing requested/required

  • Added fee for story development if requested.

Rulebooks:

  • Full service - $25 per standard manuscript page, $250 minimum
  • Proofreading - $5 per standard manuscript page, $100 minimum

Once we estimate the total number of hours needed to complete a project, we then run that time against what other projects we have in the cue, a 40-hour work week, and upcoming holidays/conventions/etc to give you an accurate, estimated arrival date!

Game Development and Audiobook Recording is based on the scope of the project.

You will be provided with a delivery date at contract signing. We do accept rush projects on a case-by-case basis (2 week turn around) for an additional fee.
